C. Mia Pettus is the Libertarian candidate for the United States House of Representatives representing Michigan’s 8th Congressional District.
A Michigan resident, Christian, mother, former City of Philadelphia Certified Police Officer, former Department of Defense Navy Civilian Federal Police Officer, independent researcher, digital creator, and publisher of PALS Report on Substack, Mia has dedicated much of her career to public service, constitutional accountability, and educating citizens about government transparency and individual rights.
Her decision to run for Congress was shaped not only by her professional experience but also by her personal journey. Throughout her life, she has experienced and continues to experience many of the same challenges facing countless Americans, including building a business from the ground up, financial hardship, food insecurity, parenting a child with a disability, and periods of housing instability. These experiences have given her firsthand insight into the realities many families face and reinforced her belief that government should serve the people with integrity, accountability, and respect.
While serving as a federal employee, Mia exercised her legal rights by pursuing administrative complaints and processes when she believed policies, procedures, and legal protections were not being followed. That experience strengthened her commitment to accountability, due process, and ensuring that government institutions remain faithful to the Constitution and the rule of law.
As the publisher of PALS Report, Mia researches constitutional rights, civil liberties, government accountability, surveillance, privacy, whistleblower protections, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. She believes informed citizens are essential to a healthy constitutional republic.
Mia is running for Congress to restore constitutional government, strengthen congressional oversight, defend individual liberty, protect taxpayer resources, and ensure government remains accountable to the people it serves.
I envision a government that faithfully follows the Constitution, respects individual liberty, protects taxpayer resources, and remains accountable to the people.
I believe our nation is strongest when government operates transparently, exercises only those powers granted by the Constitution, and serves citizens fairly regardless of political affiliation, race, religion, or background.
Our Constitution established a government of limited powers, accountable to the people and bound by the rule of law.
That vision is worth preserving.
I am running for Congress because I believe we can restore constitutional government, strengthen public trust, defend individual liberty, and build stronger communities for future generations.

I understand the challenges Michigan families face because I have lived through many of them myself. From building a business, facing financial hardship, raising a child with a disability, and experiencing the struggles that many hardworking Americans encounter, I know what it means to fight, persevere, and find solutions.
My years in public service and my work researching government accountability have given me the courage and experience to stand up for the Constitution, defend individual liberty, and hold government accountable. I am running because Michigan deserves representation from someone who understands the people, listens to their concerns, and has the conviction to protect what matters most: our rights, our freedoms, and our communities.
